Lemmy was always right

Stormy weather ahead!

Lemmy was always right! When he said “Be careful with the Maintenance Man” … He was right…When he said, “Be careful at those Mansion parties” and around some of my Hollywood friends. He was always right!

1994 proved to be a stormy time in my relationship with Lemmy and my time at the beach was becoming increasingly dangerous.

I assumed that Lemmy was a bit jealous of the time I spent with other men. He hated when he called, and I had other plans. I guessed that he was advising me on a more selfish level. Trying to get me to stop seeing the Maintenance Man by making him seem dangerous.

If the other guy was gone…. We could go back to having me at his beck and call. But I was wrong!

Motorhead Live – Lost in Paradise

Motorhead Live Concert Event

The year 1994 was a year of big adjustments for both Lemmy and me. We had been “dating” for a year and with time invested comes expectations. And I ALMOST got to see Motorhead Live again. Almost!

January 1 began with an extreme hangover and me unreasonably mad at Lemmy. How could he not want to bring in the New Year with me? I was the new woman in his life, didn’t he know the rule; that what you do on New Year’s Eve sets the tone for the rest of the year. If we spent the night apart, we would suffer the rest of the year apart in one way or another.

The road to Los Angeles

Journal Entry 08/21/1993: Moved to Los Angeles

I packed everything I owned into my 1987 Chevy celebrity on August 21st ,1993 and set out to drive to California alone. Soon I would be naked sitting on Lemmy’s couch with cocktail in hand chain smoking.

My Dad gave me a $50.00 bill and said, “I’ll see you in a week”. Ha, no chance. I was moving as far away as I could get without driving into the ocean.

Good-Bye Cambridge, Ohio….. Good-Bye cold sub-zero winters….. and Good-Bye hillbillies who don’t have a cultural bone in their body – Hello, Beaches and sushi and the life of a rock stars girlfriend.

Bourbon Blowjobs and Pool Lounge Chairs

Bourbon Blowjobs and Pool Lounge chairs

A couple of weeks after my first visit to Los Angeles I boarded a plane and flew back to paradise – Back to Hollywood and sunshine. Days filled with bourbon, blowjobs and pool lounge chairs.

February 11, 1993, I arrived back in LA. When I got off the plane, Lemmy was waiting for me right at the gate. It was evident from the big smile on his face that he was as excited to see me as I was of seeing him.

Who picked up Who?

Bar where I met Lemmy Girlfriend

My life with Lemmy started because of college campus tours. So kids, don’t skip the campus tours, it could change your life!

I was about to graduate from Kent State University, and really wanted to get as far away from home as possible, so Los Angeles was my goal.

Hanging out in the stacks of the KSU library I met Jay Brothers. We hit it off, chatted for a bit and when I mentioned that I was scheduled to tour schools in LA he invited me to stay with him. My timing was terrible. It rained every day for 10 days straight on my visit.

As a side note: this is a great example of the mindset of a twenty something… I had just met Jay and agreed to fly across the country to stay with him. No hesitation. I was either crazy, or overly trusting or super naïve or just lucky. But he turned out to be a great guy.
